Spotify is one of the best music streaming services on the market. It not only offers a large collection of songs, but also has a number of features that make the app more useful. For example, the streaming giant offers a ‘folder’ feature to let users manage their playlists efficiently. Create Folder in Spotify (2021)
You need Spotify’s desktop or web app to create folder in Spotify. In other words, you cannot use the mobile app to create Spotify folders. one. Open Spotify Desktop/Web and right click on a playlist from the playlists list in the left sidebar. From the list of options now appearing, Select ‘Create Folder’.
2. A new folder will now be created. Now you can assign a folder name it’s about playlists you plan to add for quick access.
3. Now that you’ve created the folder, it’s time to add playlists to the folder. To do this, all you have to do is drag and drop existing playlists into folder. You will see visual feedback when you drag and drop it into the folder.
4. After adding playlists to a folder, you can click the folder name to access them easily. Use the arrow key next to the folder name to expand or shrink the playlist folder from the view. You can even create a folder within a folder – just right-click on a folder and click ‘Create Folder’.
5. If you change your mind, you can always drag playlists out of the folder and delete the folder. But remember that deleting the folder permanently deletes all the playlists contained in it. Before deleting a Spotify folder, make sure you move all your important playlists out of it.
Spotify Folders in Mobile App
Unlike desktop and web counterparts, You can’t create new folders in Spotify’s mobile app. But the mobile app lets you create new playlists in a folder you’ve already created using Spotify web or desktop. However, you cannot add existing playlists to a folder from Spotify mobile. Another limitation on mobile is that you cannot move a playlist from a folder. You cannot delete the Spotify folder from mobile either. If you’re wondering why there are so many limitations, it’s because Spotify has does not officially support the feature on mobile devices.
