While apps like Gmail and Outlook have dominated the email industry lately, Yahoo Mail still retains its relevance in the email world. As of 2020, the email provider had more than 220 million monthly users, placing it in third place as one of the most popular free email service providers.
If you use Yahoo Mail for most of your mail conversations, you should consider customizing your user experience. One of these ways is to create an email signature.
Why Use Email Signatures?
An email signature is an opportunity to make a first impression. It can serve as a branding tool as it conveys certain information about yourself to the email recipient without question.
Here’s how to create a personalized email signature in Yahoo Mail.
Creating an Email Signature
There are two options for creating an email signature in Yahoo Mail:
1. Manually Create Signature in Yahoo In-App Signature Editor
Yahoo mail offers an in-app signature editor. With the editor, you can add details such as your name, role/profession, phone number, e-mail address and social media links to your signature. Here’s how it works.
Stage 1: Go to your email page on Yahoo.

Step 2: On the right side of your email page, click Settings.

Stage 3: At the bottom of the Settings tray, click More Settings with three dots (…) next to it.

Step 4: A new window should appear with more settings options. Click on Email Writing.

Step 5: Scroll down to the Signature field with an empty box below it.

Step 6: You can write text such as your name and occupation in the empty box. To change the font type and size, highlight the text in the Signature Editor and select the AA icon representing Font.

Step 7: After selecting AA, choose your preferred font and size.

Step 8: Make sure to pay attention to the window showing Signature Preview on your right when making changes to the font and size.

Step 9: To change the font color, highlight the text to be edited and select the three multicolored circles in the Signature editor. You can change the text color or highlight the text.

Step 10: To add a link, highlight the text that will act as a hyperlink and select the Link icon in the Signature editor.

Step 11: Paste or type the link to add. You can choose to test the connection (check if it’s functional) or save it.

Step 1/2: After all the edits are done, make sure the Signature activation key is activated with your email address. If not enabled, your outgoing mail will be Unsigned.

This much. Every time you click the compose button to send an email, the signature will appear.
2. Create Signature with Email Signature Generator
One downside to using the Yahoo in-app signature editor is the inability to add images. Also, the editor does not allow flexibility when designing the signature. An alternative would be to use an email signature generator such as WiseStamp, which provides a free email signature. Here’s how it works.
Stage 1: Visit the WiseStamp website.

Step 2: Select your user type as Individual or Organization.

Stage 3: You will be redirected to a page to fill in your Signature Details and Upload Photos.

Step 4: Select the Social tab to add the details of your social profiles.

Step 5: Select the Template tab to change the layout of the text in your signature.

Step 6: Call to Action, Quotes, Digital Signature etc. Select Applications to add additional items.

Step 7: Select OK Done when all edits are made.

Step 8: You will be asked to create a free account on the website.

Step 9: After creating an account, you will be asked to select the email provider with which you will use your new Signature.

Step 10: Select Continue.

Step 11: The final step is to download the app’s Chrome extension, and the signature should come automatically when you draft an outgoing email.

Deleting Email Signature
If you no longer like your email signature or want to replace it with a new one, here’s how it works:
Stage 1: Go to your email page on Yahoo.

Step 2: On the right side of your email page, click Settings.

Stage 3: At the bottom of the Settings tray, click More Settings with three dots (…) next to it.

Step 4: A new window should appear with more settings options. Click on Email Writing.

Step 5: Scroll down to the Signature field with your information.

Step 6: Highlight all the details and press the Backspace or Delete key on your keyboard.

Creating Signatures in Outlook and Gmail
Email signatures are not limited to just the Yahoo mail provider. You can also create email signatures in Outlook and Gmail.
