Spotlight search has been around for a while on iPhones, and it’s very useful. You can swipe left or down from your home screen to access Spotlight search and search for anything you want. That’s all well and good, but if you use Spotlight search a lot on your iPhone or iPad, there are probably a lot of things appearing underneath in the search history. If Apple got one thing right about Spotlight search history on the iPhone, it was that it only showed the last three searches you’ve made. However, there is no option to clear this history. Well, If you want to clear the Spotlight search history on your iPhone or iPad, here’s how you can do it in iOS 10:
Clear Spotlight Search History in iOS 10
While it may not seem possible to clear the Spotlight search history on an iPhone, there is actually a way to do it. This isn’t exactly a specific “option”, but a quicker workaround you can use to get rid of call history on your iPhone:
1. Go “Settings -> General -> Spotlight Search“.
2. Here, simply turn on the switch next to “.Siri Suggestions” with “Closed”, and turn it back on.
This will clear search history For your iPhone to search for Spotlight and bring your Spotlight search screen back to its clean(ish) look.
Remember when we went to the “Spotlight Search” page in “Settings”? This is the screen where you can do it. Manage everything related to Spotlight search screen on your iPhone. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have any option to clear the search history for Spotlight search, which seems like a sad oversight by Apple.
