You must have noticed that on a Windows PC or laptop, a web page you visit often does not load even though it seems to work fine on other devices. This issue occurs because the DNS Cache is corrupt.

For those unaware, DNS Cache is a file that contains the hostnames and IP addresses of the websites you visit. As the name suggests, it caches the web page, which causes the web page to load faster the next time you open it. While most internet-connected systems automatically update cache and hostnames, problems arise when a web page’s IP address changes before updating and then the page fails to load. Fortunately, There are easy ways to flush or clear the DNS cache in Windows 10:

Clear DNS Cache with Command Prompt

1. First, Right click on Start Menu and open”Command Prompt (Admin)You will be prompted for a UAC (User Account Control) permission popup, just click on the “.Yes” To launch Command Prompt with administrative privileges.

2. Paste the “” command in Command Prompt.ipconfig /flushdns” and press enter.

3. This will empty the DNS cache and you will get a message saying “”.Successfully flushed DNS Resolver Cache“.

That’s it, the command resets the DNS cache while removing old cache files that could cause errors while loading a web page.

Flush DNS Cache Using Batch File
