Method 1: Using the Settings Menu

With Windows 10, Microsoft has added a new GUI option to check the activation status of your copy of the OS. This is the simplest way to get the job done and requires only a few mouse clicks. However, this method is only available on Windows 10, so if you’re using a previous version of Windows, skip to the next method.

• Open the Settings app using the Windows 10 keyboard shortcut“Windows key + me” on your PC. Alternatively, you can right-click the Start button and select Settings.

• Now, “Update and Security” settings window.

• On the next page, “activation” from the left sidebar. You will now be able to see the activation and licensing status of your Windows 10 installation.

Method 2: Using Command Prompt

• Your computer will now display a small popup with activation information. If your copy of Windows is licensed, it will say so next to the “License Status” option.

note: The kernel version in the screenshot above refers to Windows 10 Home. It has nothing to do with the Windows Core operating system.

Method 3: Using the Run Command

Like the method above, the method below doesn’t work on Windows 10 only. You can also run it on older versions of Windows, including Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 to check.

• You can also run the aforementioned command directly via the “Run” function to check if your Windows 10 PC is active.
• to access the Run dialog.Windows key + R” concurrent. Now copy and paste the following command: slmgr.vbs /dlv in the text box. Finally, hit Enter or click OK to run the command.
