When we get the Zoom meeting link, we click on it without checking our account. Imagine joining your office meeting on Zoom while signed in with your child’s account. It may sound funny, but it can be awkward at formal meetings. To easily fix such a blunder, you can change your Zoom name without leaving the meeting. If you’re wondering how to change your name on Zoom before or after joining a meeting, this is the right place.

How to Change Profile Name in Zoom on PC
You can change your name before joining a Zoom meeting or during a meeting. Let’s check out the different ways.
Method 1: Change Zoom Name for All Meetings
To change your name in all meetings, follow these steps:
Stage 1: Launch the Zoom application on your computer.
Step 2: Click on the profile picture icon at the top. Select My Profile from the menu. A web page will open and take you to the Zoom account settings. Sign in with your Zoom account information.
Fly: If you don’t see My Profile, go to Settings > Profile > Edit profile.
Stage 3: In Zoom account settings, under Personal in the left sidebar, go to Profile. Click the Edit button next to your name and enter a new name. Save the changes using the save button.
Note: The name of the current meeting will only be changed using the following two methods.
Method 2: Change Zoom Name Before Joining a Meeting
Open the Zoom app without clicking the Zoom meeting link and click the Join button.
The Join Meeting box will open. You will receive two boxes. The first is to fill in the meeting ID, and the second is to enter the display name. Enter your name in the second box. You will need to enter the Meeting ID manually.
Pro Tip: If this method fails, log out of the Zoom app and then click the Join button.
Method 3: Changing Zoom Name During Meeting
If you want to change your name after joining a meeting, you don’t have to disconnect the call to change your name. Simply click the Participants icon on the meeting screen.
A sidebar will open. Hover your mouse over your name and click More. Then select Rename. Enter a new name.
Alternatively, right-click on your video preview and select Rename from the menu.

How to Change Name in Zoom on Android, iPhone and iPad
Like a computer, the Zoom name on mobile devices can be changed before or during a meeting. Here are different ways to achieve this.
Method 1: Change Zoom Name on Mobile for All Meetings
To change the name of all meetings before joining a meeting, follow these steps:
Stage 1: Launch the Zoom app. Tap Settings at the bottom. Tap your name at the top.
Step 2: Tap Display Name and change the name on the next screen.
Method 2: Change Zoom Name on Mobile Before Joining Meeting
Tap the Join button on the Zoom app’s home screen to change your name for just one meeting. Enter your name in the Name box.
Method 3: Change Zoom Name During Meeting
Stage 1: After joining a meeting, tap the Participants tab at the bottom of the Zoom app.
Step 2: Tap your name and select Rename from the menu.
Bonus Tip 1: How to Change Participant Name on Zoom
If you’re the host, you can change someone else’s name in a Zoom meeting. To do this on PC, join a meeting. Click the Participants tab, then click the participant’s name. Press the More button, then Rename. Or right-click the participant’s video and select Rename.
Bonus Tip 2: Stop Participants Renaming Themselves
Many people, especially children, continue to change their names during Zoom meetings. If this bothers you as the host, you can stop attendees from renaming themselves in your meetings. For this, open Zoom account settings at us04web.zoom.us/profile/setting. Go to Settings from the left panel. Then click In Meeting (Basic).
Scroll down and turn off the toggle next to ‘Allow attendees to rename themselves’.
Fix: Cannot Change Zoom Name
If you are unable to change your display name on Zoom using the methods above, you must change it directly from the Zoom website. For this, open Zoom account settings at us04web.zoom.us/profile. Sign in with your Zoom account. Click Profile from the left sidebar. Then click Edit next to your name and add a new name.
