If you can’t stand seeing another BuzzFeed post on Facebook, the website is introducing a new tool to block Facebook websites from the news feed in a few clicks.
Any Facebook user will tell you that there is at least one friend who repeatedly wants to be dragged into the same political website, left or right, in a conversation that no one wants to see and that will lead to nothing but disappointment.
You can now hide articles on Facebook.
If you want to clean up your Facebook news feed and keep articles from a particular website out of your feed, you can do that now. This isn’t a perfect solution as some posts won’t show the Hide all option and may still be overlooked depending on how a user shares a link, but here’s how to clear your Facebook news feed.
How to Block Websites from Facebook
Perhaps one of the best things about Hide All on Facebook is that it works in the Facebook app on iPhone and Android as well as on the website. This is great to see, considering how much time many users spend on Facebook on their phones.
While browsing the Facebook news feed, if you see a post on a website that you no longer want to see, you can tap to hide it all from that website.
Tap the small arrow in the upper-right corner of a post. It’s in the same spot on iPhone, Android, and the web.

If Facebook detects the website used in the post, there will be an option to “Hide all from website name”.
Tap on Hide all to get started.
When asked if you want to hide posts from the website name, click or tap on hide.
Click or tap hide to complete the action.
It is possible to click undo to change the block immediately, and Facebook will also ask why you do not want to see the articles on that website. Users can tell Facebook if it’s offensive, shouldn’t be on Facebook, or it’s spam. After the initial blocking, it’s unclear where users can unblock a site from their Facebook news feed.
This doesn’t seem to work when someone posts a status from another person or from a page. To block these users, they need to unfollow the person using the same dropdown menu. This will not unfriend the person, but will keep all their updates out of your news feed. It would be nice to see the option to block shared links here as well.
