Microsoft’s Xbox Live service is a popular place. Every day, thousands of users log into their Xbox One to play video games, watch TV shows from Netflix, and listen to music. With all entertainment apps and built-in live television integration, Xbox One is designed to always be up and running, no matter what kind of entertainment you’re enjoying. That’s why it’s a really good idea to learn how to become invisible on Xbox Live early on.
Depending on your privacy settings, many things you do on Xbox One can be seen by other users. Get a notification every time you sign in to Xbox Live on Xbox One if your friends have marked you as a favourite. For games this is great but not for fun. What if you’re totally happy with watching movies on Netflix instead of playing games? What if you have a huge Xbox Live friends list but don’t want to be bothered?
You can change your profile settings to appear invisible to all other Xbox One owners. With this turned on, you can still play games, stream videos from Netflix, and watch television. Your friend can’t say you’re online and that you’re doing any of this.
Turn on your Xbox One by pressing the Xbox logo on your controller or the Xbox logo on your console itself. If you have an Xbox One with a Kinect sensor, simply say “Xbox, On”. Voice command may or may not work depending on whether you have Instant-on enabled in Power Settings.
Do not go to the Settings app. Instead, use the joystick on your Xbox One controller to navigate to the Friends app. The Friends app includes all settings for Xbox Live privacy and sharing. It’s also a great place to find out what games your friends have played or played in the past. If you have a Kinect sensor, you can say “Xbox, Go to Friends”. Unless you select the update Tile on the far right of your screen.
Welcome to the Friends app. Don’t choose anything yet. look for the menu item labeled My profile In the menu in the far left corner of your screen. The option is under Messages and will take you directly to a dump of your Xbox Live profile. Don’t panic, when you select My Profile, your entire screen will be refreshed almost as if you were entering a separate application.
This is your Xbox Live Profile. On the far right, you’ll find a badge showing your Xbox Live reputation, your gamertag, your real name if you’re considering sharing, and how many years you’ve subscribed to Xbox Live Gold. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’re ignoring all these options and focusing on the menu in the middle of your screen. select the option from the menu labeled Appears Online.
Choose from the drop-down menu It appears offline. You can press the Xbox One logo on your controller to return to the Home Page. Or just say “Xbox, go home”.
Currently, you actually have to sit in front of your Xbox One console to achieve this. That will change later this year as Microsoft releases an updated Xbox companion app for Windows users that adds this option for everyone, even when away from their console. It’s worth noting that you only need to be invisible on Xbox One if you’re signed in to Xbox Live.
It’s incredibly important to remember that from the moment you toggle this trigger, everyone on Xbox Live thought you weren’t online. It’s great if you don’t want to be bothered trying to watch a movie or finish a television show, it’s scary if you’re looking for someone to play with and forget that no one can see you. Unfortunately Microsoft does not make you visible even after you log out of your console. Don’t forget to turn this key back to See Online. Again, you’ll be able to join matchmaking and do whatever you want without appearing on Xbox One, the problem is that no one else will know you’re up to play a game or Party Chat for free. to them.
