Google is making some fundamental changes to portray itself as a privacy-respecting company. Last month, Google added some basic controls that allow you to change the way Google handles your data. Unlike before, you can now automatically delete your web activity and location history from your Google account. Auto-deletion is enabled by default for new accounts, but you have to manually enable the option for existing Google accounts. That’s why we bring you this short tutorial on how to automatically delete web and location history on Google. With that in mind, let’s move on to the steps without wasting any time.
Automatically Delete Web and Location History on Google
1. First of all, Google’s Activity Controls page. If you are not signed in, sign in to your Google account.
2. Here, “auto delete(closed)”.
3. Now you can select the option to automatically delete your Google activity afterward. 3 or 18 months. After that, click “Next”.

4. On the next page, click “Confirm” permanent change.

5. If I don’t want google to track and services, then disable the “Web & App Activity” toggle.
6. Similarly, scroll down and disable the toggle between “Location History” and “YouTube History”. In this way stop google permanently from storing your location history, YouTube and web activity. Note that this also means your Google experience will be less personalized.

Take Control of Your Data on Google
This is how you can set up automatic deletion of location history and web activity on Google. Google has long been accused of collecting too much personal data, so these new controls are a welcome change. Even if you are deeply connected to the Google ecosystem, I highly recommend deleting location history and web activity automatically after 18 months. Anyway, that’s it for us.
