Someone rightly said that a picture is worth a thousand words. But sometimes a single picture isn’t enough to tell a story. Adding several photos at once helps to better express the story and emotions. For the longest time, Instagram only allowed adding a single photo per story. Fortunately, things have now changed for the better and you can add multiple photos per story. The same goes for Instagram posts.
There are two ways to add multiple photos to Instagram stories. You can either go the simple way and make a collage. Or you can use Photo Tag option. The latter looks much better as it gives you the flexibility to edit the photos according to your preference.
When it comes to adding multiple photos to Instagram posts, there is only one way to do it.
Here’s how to add multiple photos to an Instagram Post or Story.
How to Add Multiple Photos to Instagram Story
1. Use Layout
The Layout tool lets you choose from several different collage types. Besides, it is easy and simple to use. The good thing is that you can post snapshots or pick one from your phone’s gallery.
Stage 1: Swipe right on your Instagram homepage to open Story. Tap the small arrow on the left as shown below.
Step 2: Select Layout from the list and tap Change Grid. Choose the grid you want.
All you have to do is click on the photos. Alternatively, you can tap the Photo icon in the lower left corner to select a photo from your phone’s gallery.
When done, simply tap the Tick button in the middle. This much.
Add all the necessary stickers and details and the photo is ready to be shared with your followers.
2. Use Photo Sticker
But if you ask me, Layout grids can seem a bit harsh. If you want a more ‘fun’ way to add multiple photos to Insta stories, you can’t go wrong with the built-in Photo sticker option. This allows you to add loads of photos at once.
Stage 1: Open Story and select a photo from gallery. Alternatively, you can click in place.
step 2: Tap the Sticker icon at the top and scroll down until you see the Photo Sticker option.
Now all you have to do is choose a photo from your phone’s gallery and add it to the story.
And it doesn’t end there. Tap the photos to turn them into cute shapes. You can experiment with various shapes, from stars to circles.
Apart from that, you can also adjust the size and orientation of the photo. To enlarge the photo, simply compress it.
Repeat the above steps to add as many photos as you want. When you’re done, give it a finishing touch by adding an appropriate sticker. Then tag and share.
How to Add Music to Stories with Multiple Photos
Fortunately, Instagram doesn’t differentiate between regular stories and collaged stories.
Stage 1: After adding all the photos, tap the Sticker icon and select Music.
step 2: Select a song from the available list or search for one.
Instagram automatically discards the best part of the song. However, you can always brush to find the part that interests you.
Tap on the Font icons to change the style of the lyrics. However, if you don’t want to view the lyrics, just tap the little Cross icon.
When everything is in place, press the Done button. Your story is now ready to be shared.
How to Add Multiple Photos to an Instagram Post
The ability to add multiple photos to Instagram Post was there. It’s a simple process. For now, you can add about 10 photos at once.
Stage 1: Tap the Plus icon in the top right corner to add a new Post. Then tap the Resize icon on the left.
This will prevent non-square photos from being cropped automatically.
step 2: When you’re done, tap on the Multi little Photos icon on the right and select the photos you want to upload.
The real hero of this feature is the editing options. You can choose the same filter for all photos. Or you can choose individual filters for each photo. To do this, tap the circular icon in the lower left corner.
Add a catchy title and share after you’ve finished all the edits. This much!
Tell a Beautiful Story
Over the years, Instagram has introduced a number of features and minimized dependency on third-party apps. However, if you want a unique collage for your stories and posts, you can always use apps like Canva or Adobe Spark and let your creativity run wild.
