Instagram has released an update to their app that now allows users to access multiple Instagram accounts on a single device. Here’s how to set it up.
Many social media apps these days come with support for multiple accounts. Usually not official apps, but most third-party social apps come with this feature, so it’s absolutely surprising to see Instagram officially supporting multiple accounts.
In any case, there is no doubt that many Instagram users are excited about the feature, and while most users only have one Instagram account, there are others who can also manage a company Instagram account or some other personal account.
That said, Instagram has made it super easy to switch between Instagram accounts if you have more than one, and while the feature is a bit hidden the steps to set them all up are pretty straightforward.
Here’s how to add multiple Instagram accounts on iPhone and easily switch between them whenever you want.
Adding Another Instagram Account
The process of adding another Instagram account to the app is pretty straightforward, but not the easiest to find. To do this, simply follow the steps below:
In the Instagram app on your iPhone, tap the Profile icon tab in the lower right corner.
From there, tap the gear icon in the upper right corner.
Scroll all the way down and tap on it.
On the next screen, log in as you would normally if you were logged out, only this time enter the username and password of the account you want to add. You can also sign up for a new account on this screen.
When you log in, your new account will be added and will automatically switch to it so you can start using it right away.
Switching Between Instagram Accounts
After adding multiple accounts, you can easily switch between them.
To do this, go to your profile page and tap your username at the top. A drop-down menu will then appear where you can select the Instagram account you want to switch to.
Going back is a matter of going back to the Profile page, tapping the username at the top, and then selecting the other Instagram account.
You can also add another account by tapping on it from this drop-down menu.
Deleting Instagram Account
If you’ve added another Instagram account to the app but want to delete it, here’s how to do it.
Start by switching to the account you want to delete. From there go to the Profile page and then tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
From there, scroll all the way down. You will be able to log out of that account. You can also log out of all your accounts at the same time if you want to make a fresh start.
