There is no doubt that Nova Launcher is the best Android launcher ever released. Its endless customizations and beautiful UI give it an edge other launchers can only dream of. My favorite thing about Nova is that its developers quickly bring the best features from the latest Android version to older versions. However, there was a feature that even the developers in Nova Launcher had overlooked until now. This is the Google Assistant Panel, which you can access by swiping from left to right on phones with a Google Assistant launcher or Pixel Launcher.
The lack of this feature alone has made me switch between Nova and the default Android launcher for a long time. Not anymore. You can now access the Google Assistant Panel while running the Nova launcher. It’s not as smooth as we’d like, but it’s still a start. So without wasting any more time, Here’s how you can add Google Assistant Page to Nova Launcher home screen:
1. Install Beta Version of Nova Launcher
Before you can enjoy the Google Now Page in Nova Launcher, you need to install the beta version of the app as this feature is currently being tested and is only available for beta testers. To become a beta tester, go to: Nova Launcher Beta’s Play Store page and login with your Google account and “Be a Tester”.
Now that you are a beta tester, search for Nova Launcher in the Play Store or connection for download. If you don’t want to go through the beta tester process, you can download it directly. Nova Launcher Beta APK Download and install from the official website.
2. Install Nova Google Companion 1.0
This is a plugin you need to install to activate the Google Assistant Page. Yes, you will need to sideload the Nova Google Companion app. Download APK from this link and tap Install. Make sure you allow your Android device to install APKs from unknown sources. To do this, go to: Settings>Security>Unknown sources and enable it.
3. Enable Google Assistant Page
After installing the Nova Google Companion app, Restart Nova launchr. To do this, go to Nova Settings and click “Developed” option. Tap the arrow to reveal the advanced settings, and then “Restart Nova Launcher”. You can now go to the home screen and swipe right to reveal the Google Assistant Page.
Bonus Tip:
If you still see another widget instead of the Google Assistant Page when swiping on your home screen, delete the widget and restart the launcher. Enjoy!
