Google Photos: How to save all your photos to the cloud

Want to back up your entire photo library from all your devices to the cloud? Google Photos is probably one of the best choices you can make: the service offers free, unlimited storage of your “high-quality” photos – 15GB free if you broadcast your originals on TV. Since switching from Flickr to a paid offering, it’s actually hard to find anything better! Here’s how to back up all your photos regardless of your device.

Back up your photo library from your smartphone or tablet to Google Photos

Google Drive: Back up your photos on your Windows PC or Mac

On your computer:

  • Download and install Backup and Sync by clicking here
  • Link to your Google account
  • When the app requests, you can select content that interests you (photos, videos, other files, etc.).
  • Choose the folders where your photos are located
  • Select import size in section Import size of photos and videos and click on To start to start the backup
