If you frequently switch between Waze and Google Maps? It is likely that you missed at least one of the features of the first in the second. For driving, Waze usually takes the top spot, as the app’s interface is more convenient for driving. It has an extremely practical speedometer, especially in order to comply with the highway rules and, above all, not to distract your attention too much between the smartphone and the instrument panel. However, since acquiring Waze, Google has been expanding the functionality of the navigation app. A speedometer can now be displayed on Google Maps. Unfortunately, unlike Waze, where this counter appears by default, Google leaves it up to users to enable it.
How to display speedometer on Google Maps?
For him:
- open app Google Maps
- go to menu ≡ in the upper left corner
- enter inside Settings > Navigation Settings
- enable speedometer in the section Route options by car
- return to home screen
Search for a ride and start it in car mode to verify that the speedometer will be there. You should see the counter appear in a white circle in the lower left corner of the screen. The speedometer is only available in newer versions of the app. If not available in option Settings, you will need to find and launch a Google Maps update. This can be done directly on the Google Play Store or by directly locating the APK file if available on platforms like APKMirror.
