Freebox allows its users to create “guest” Wi-Fi access since the Freebox OS 3.5 update. You must be equipped with a Freebox Revolution or a Freebox Mini 4K. The Freebox OS 3.5 update brings its share of new features, among them “Guest Wi-Fi access”. Unfortunately, only Freebox Revolution and Freebox Mini 4K are available for now, so Freebox V5 or Crystal owners won’t be able to take advantage of it. Freebox: how to create and configure guest Wi-Fi access

- In Freebox OS domainGo to Freebox settings > Local network > Guest Wi-Fi.
- Click on “Create guest Wi-Fi access”.
- Then you can start setting up the Wi-Fi access.
- Choose a password to use to connect to the access point.
- Select the maximum number of devices allowed to be connected. The limit is set at 128.
- Choose an access type. “Internet Access” will allow guests to surf the Internet, “Local Network” will allow them to connect to your devices, access shared files…
- Choose an access period that can be set to an hour, two days, several weeks, or even an indefinite period.
- Imagine an explanation to detect the web, you can be original.
- A very practical QR Code is provided to you so that guests can automatically connect to the access point without having to enter a password.
Note that the Freebox Companion – My Freebox Android app also received a major update on January 29, 2018. Among all the new features it offers, we find the creation and configuration of guest Wi-Fi access. Simply launch the app on a Wi-Fi-connected smartphone and follow the steps described above.
