There are certainly no limited solitaire games available for the iPhone, but a new mobile title from Big Fish Games seems to be putting a new spin on the genre. Fairway Solitaire Blast brings a fun twist to the classic card game we all know and love.
Players are tasked with clearing the game board by selecting cards that are one lower or higher than the main card you must follow. The fewer moves players make to clear the game board, the more points they earn.

But before you act, there are a few tips and tricks you can follow to get the best score at the end and move on to more challenging levels quickly and easily.
Always Think Forward
One of the most critical tips in Fairway Solitaire Blast is to think ahead and plan your moves. This is a good tip for any casual and turn-based game, but it’s especially important in Fairway Solitaire Blast. Consider what your next few moves will be, as the goal is to pick cards that are one or lower than the “master card”.
Depending on the cards on the board, starting from the top may allow you to clear more cards than starting from the bottom, and vice versa. Which brings us to a related tip…
Clear Cards Revealing More Cards
Let’s say my main board is 5, so I will have to choose 3 or 4 of the cards on the board. Unfortunately I don’t have 3 but I do have a few 4. However, instead of randomly choosing the 4 that I first see on the board, try to pick one that stands on top of the other cards so you can reveal more cards for later use.
Do Not Clean Cards That Can Be Cleared With Power Ups
Also, do not clear cards that can be deleted using power-ups. Power-ups allow you to automatically clear a handful of cards in a row without having to clear them yourself.
If you need a 6 and you have several 6s on the board, use one that cannot be cleared using a power-up, as the only way to get rid of it is to clear it yourself.
Few New Cards
As you progress through the game, you will get fewer cards you can draw. Essentially, you draw a new main card whenever you can’t clear a lower or higher card. If you don’t have such a card, use a power-up if possible and let you reveal more cards flipped on the board.
Also, any cards you don’t use in your draw deck are returned to you as bonus points at the end of the round, so use the draw cards carefully.
Use Power-Ups as a Last Option
It makes sense that many players might want to use a power-up as soon as they get their hands on it, but it’s not always the best option. Use them as a last option.
This is because if you use a power-up first, you may be clearing the cards you need to clear more cards. For example, my motherboard is 7, so I need 6 or 8. There are 8 on the board, then 9, 10, J, Q, K and A. Jackpots! However, if I use a boost it might clear the J, breaking the series I planned.
With that in mind, if you can no longer find a card to clear, use power-ups and use one before drawing a new master card.
You don’t need all 3 Stars
Like Angry Birds, Fairway Solitaire Blast uses a three-star scoring system, but if you’re not paranoid about getting all three stars, you don’t need them to get to the next level. Just getting one star will unlock the next challenge, so don’t worry about perfecting every level if you just want to complete the game.
