Factory Reset Android Wear Smartwatch

Now that Android Wear is available in several different smartwatches sold directly by Google on the Play Store, consumers are starting to pick up the new wearable gadget. After being announced at Google I/O a few weeks ago after a brief debut in March, users can now enjoy the first wave of Google-powered smartwatches.

Options like the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are now available in select retail stores and online, with buyers starting to ask questions about how Android Wear works. One thing you may want to know is how to reset the device called factory data reset. Basically erasing all personal information from your watch.

Make sure the screen is on (not a dim low power state) or tap the screen then say “Ok Google, settings” which will instantly launch voice commands, hear you say settings and go to settings menu. Android Wear will reboot, boot into recovery mode to erase all your user data, and reboot as a fresh product, just like when it first booted out of the box. You’re done. It’s that easy. Users can also say “Ok Google” then tap the arrow at the bottom of the screen and scroll to the bottom of the list of options, tap settings and find it that way, but voice controls are available, so use them to your advantage.
