Facebook’s media export tool to Google Photos is now available to everyone

Facebook’s Google Photos transfer tool, first announced for the US and Canada in April, is now available worldwide. announced on Thursday.

The new data transfer tool allows you to make copies of any photos or videos in your Facebook account and transfer them to a linked Google Photos account. The tool was first made available in certain regions of Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America last December and has since expanded to more countries.

Here’s how to use the new data transfer tool on Facebook:

  1. When you’re logged into your Facebook account, click the down arrow at the end of the top menu bar and select “Settings”.
  2. Select the tab that says “Your Facebook Information”.
  3. Click on “Transfer a copy of your Photos or Videos” option.

Currently, users can only store photos in Google Photos. However, a Facebook spokesperson said Anger In April, “people will also be able to transfer photos to other companies participating in the Data Transfer Programme”.

This initiative was established in 2018 between Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter and is designed to encourage joint efforts towards improved data sharing tools between companies and consumers alike.
