Motorola Droid 4 is set to receive its first update since the device was first launched on Verizon’s 4G LTE network in February of this year.
The update was originally discovered by Droid-Lifeis set to bring a host of improvements and fixes to Big Red’s iconic smartphone. Chief among these is improved battery life, something that comes with every Android update.
It will also bring fixes for the backlight on the keyboard and improvements in Wi-Fi connectivity.

Now, Verizon has yet to release it. Confirmed and pending in the wings, but not released. However, that doesn’t mean Droid 4 owners can’t get it right now.
It can be installed manually.
For Droid 4 owners who want to manually install the update, here’s how to do it.
1) Download this file and place it in the root of your SD card in your phone.
2) Turn off the phone and when it restarts, press and hold the Power button and the volume keys at the same time. This will take you to the bootloader menu.
3) Select Recovery with the volume up key and press both volume keys when the exclamation mark appears.
4) Go to “Apply update from sdcard”. You’ll want to select this with the device’s power button.
5) Scroll down and select the name of the file you just downloaded. Its name will be ‘Blur_Version.6.13.215.XT894.Verizon.en.US.zip’.
6) The update should install and you will have all the fixes on your Droid 4.
