Customizing BlinkFeed on HTC One and Sense 5

Never giving up on a trend, HTC has tried to simplify the way users find the things they care about on their smartphones running the new Sense 5 skin for Android by using the BlinkFeed interface on every HTC One home screen. Here’s how to customize BlinkFeed on HTC One and show you more information that matters to you and how you use your device.

Select and Remove News Sources and News Categories

Your HTC One. By default, you’ll be greeted by HTC One’s default Sense 5 home screen.

Your BlinkFeed timeline with your finger. This will reveal a small toolbar above your BlinFeed timeline.

Tap on the menu you’ve created. They are located in the far right corner of the toolbar you just uncovered.

Tap the icon from the drop-down menu on the right side of the screen.

For which sources BlinkFeed gets featured news from, tap the checkbox corresponding to each news source. In the screenshot below, we’ve chosen Reuters as the news source we want to get featured headlines from.

To add or remove all news post categories based on your interests, swipe from right to left of the screen.

Add any topic you like by tapping on it, or remove already featured topics by tapping on it.

Select and Uninstall Apps and Social Networks

By default, BlinkFeed will pull down information from the social network accounts you entered when setting up HTC One.

In the Topics and services menu, swipe left to right for the menu.

Tap the item you want Blinkfeed to pull information from. For this example, we told our HTC One not to add information from LinkedIn to Blinkfeed. Tap on the right side of each social network to add this account or change the password for Sense 5 users to pull information from that account.

This menu also allows you to change the apps that have access to your BlinkFeed screen. For this example we have given all our apps that have the ability to connect with BlinkFeed, enable or disable, tap their name. This app list is located at the bottom of the menu.

How to customize HTC one (7)

You have now customized the BlinkFeed interface on your HTC One or other HTC device running Sense 5. Since your device only shows you the things you care about, it will be much easier to find the status updates and news that matter most to you. .
