How to Connect AirPods to Your Chromebook
If you thought connecting AirPods to Chromebooks would be difficult, think again. The process is actually really simple. You can even pair AirPods with laptops if you want. In this article, we will focus on unpairing and disconnecting AirPods from Chromebooks, as well as pairing AirPods with Chrome OS.

Connect AirPods to Chromebook
- Click the network and battery icon in your Chromebook taskbar.
- Make sure your Chromebook’s Bluetooth is turned on. If not, just click the Bluetooth icon; the tile turns blue.
- Click the small arrow below the icon and then the settings gear icon that appears.
- Your Chromebook will now display paired devices and also search for new devices it can pair with.
- Open your AirPods Pro case. At this point, your AirPods Pro may appear in the unpaired devices section. Otherwise, press and hold the button on the back of the case to put your AirPods in pairing mode.
- You will see the AirPods Pro in the unpaired devices section. Just click the name to pair them with your Chromebook.
That’s it, you’ve connected your AirPods to your Chromebook. You can check this by clicking the network and battery icon in your taskbar again. The Bluetooth tile will show that it is connected to your AirPods Pro.
How to Disconnect AirPods from Chromebook
If you’re trying to disconnect your AirPods from Chrome OS because you’ve finished using them for the day, there’s not much you can do. You can put them back in the charging box and close the lid. This will disconnect them from your Chromebook and also charge them.
However, if you want to unpair AirPods with your Chromebook, follow the steps outlined below.
- Open the settings on your Chromebook. You can do this by pressing the search key on the keyboard and typing the settings.
- Now, click on ‘Bluetooth’ to view the connected and paired devices.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the name of your AirPods.
- Click ‘Remove from list’.
Your AirPods Pro is no longer paired with the Chromebook.
