Currently, dark mode is really the lifeblood of smartphone app developers, be it Android or iOS. A dark theme has many advantages: it relaxes the eyes, especially in dim light and darkness. It can also make text more readable in certain situations, but most importantly it saves battery life on smartphones with OLED screens. In fact, in these smartphones, the black pixel is a closed pixel that does not consume electricity, and the dark gray pixels consume much less than the open pixels.
How to Enable Chrome Dark Mode on Android
For him:
- Open Chromium on your smartphone
- Type the following in the address bar chrome://flags then press Login
- Search using the search field Android Chrome UI dark mode then enable the feature by selecting activated
- Tap the blue button reboot now bottom right
On reboot, the option should now be available in settings – an option that must be enabled for the dark theme to appear:
- go to menu ⋮ top right
- enter inside Settings > Dark Mode
- enable option
note : This option will not appear if you “forgot” to restart Chrome after enabling the flag. If you can’t find the famous “flag” we talked about in step 2 of this tutorial, your version of Chrome is too old. This feature can indeed only be enabled in Chrome 74 and later. :
