Can’t Change Insider Channels in Windows 11? Here’s the Fix!

Last week, Microsoft finally released the first Windows 11 beta. Unlike the usual builds on the Beta channel, the current Windows 11 build allows you to switch from the Dev channel to the Beta channel without having to clean install the operating system. However, some Insiders are facing issues with this migration process. Microsoft is aware of the issue and has made a detailed fix to allow you to easily switch between Insider channels once again. In this article we will walk you through the steps to change Windows 11 Insider channels without errors.

Change Windows 11 Insider Channel With This Easy Fix

1. First, search for “cmd” or “Command Prompt” in Windows Search and Click “Run as administrator” from the list of options. Alternatively, you can right-click the Command Prompt search list and select “Run as administrator”.

2. When the permission prompt appears, click “Yes” to open Command Prompt on your PC. When it appears, type the following command to enable the option to switch Insider channels in Windows 11. Then press Enter.

bcdedit /set flightsigning on

set flight signing in cmd

3. Next, paste the command below and hit Enter to run it in Command Prompt.

 bcdedit /set {bootmgr} flightsigning on

4. After running both of these commands, Restart your Windows 11 PC. As you can see in the image below, you should now see the “Choose your Insider settings” option in the Settings app. You can follow our linked instruction set to switch from the Windows 11 Dev channel to the Beta channel.
