Almost all Android smartphones and tablets have a Google search bar on the home screen. A search bar, which can be very useful for some users; but if you’re reading this tutorial, it’s probably because it isn’t exactly helpful to you / you want to replace it / you want to have a bare home screen as much as possible (cross out the word useless). The method differs slightly depending on the model, but is usually extremely simple once you know the trick.
How to Remove Google Search Bar on Android
To remove the Google search bar on an android smartphone or tablet:
Method 1
- Long press the search bar
- To touch To delete Where To hide or drag the bar to the trash according to your model
Method 2
- enter inside Settings > Apps Where applications
- tap the app Google and disable
- Restart your smartphone to say goodbye completely 😉
Method 3
- Press and hold an empty area of the home screen
- To touch Settings Where Settings in the options list
- uncheck Show Google Toolbar on Home Screen
Method 4
- upload a initiator Alternative like Apex Launcher or Nova Launcher
This last method is practically the only one that works on Google Pixel and Pixel 2. Of course, there is always an alternative: rooting your Android smartphone or installing an alternative ROM like LineageOS. Root will let you do what you want, while alternative ROMs all usually let you remove the famous search bar. But we wanted to give you a much longer method, and most importantly, one that is extremely fast and takes no more than a few seconds.
