It’s a notable addition to the already solid Apple Health, with a wide array of health and fitness features, including sleep tracking, real-time control of headphone volume, and automatic reduction of loud headphone volume. So far, I’ve loved using the built-in sleep tracker to keep track of sleep and improve it. However, some users reported that they were unable to track sleep accurately. If you faced the same issue, try these tips to improve sleep tracking in iOS 14 on your iPhone.
Tips to Improve Sleep Tracking on iPhone Running iOS 14 or Higher
So what could be preventing the built-in sleep tracker from logging the data correctly? After taking a close look at how the sleep tracking feature works and using it to keep a tab on my sleep since it was made available in the iOS 14 beta, what I can say is it could be a miscellaneous glitch or just too many distractions. .
Also, I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of a rare bug that could interfere with the sleep monitor. With all this in mind, I have suggested solutions that may help clear up the confusion.
Force Restart Your iPhone
The first solution I would suggest you try is to hard reset your device. More often, force restarting works in solving random issues that pop up out of nowhere. Therefore, it would be wise to give it a shot first.
- If you have an iPhone 8 or later, press and quickly release the volume up button. Next, press and quickly release the volume down button. Now, hold down the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
- On iPhone 7/7 Plus, You have to simultaneously hold down both the volume down button and the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
- If you have an iPhone 6s or 6s PlusPress and hold both the home button and the power button at the same time to force restart your device.
Now let a sleep session complete to find out if sleep monitoring has improved.
Perfectly Customize Sleep Tracking
If the first solution didn’t fix the sleep monitoring issue, ideally make sure to customize it. The Health app offers the flexibility needed to fine-tune sleep tracking based on your needs. So make sure it fits your purpose.
Hungry health app Tap on and on your iPhone. Search tab. Now, choose Sleep choice. After that, tap on To organise It’s under your program section. Next, customize your sleep schedule and tap on it. Completed in the upper right corner of the screen to finish.
Note:
- If you are distracted by alerts during your sleep or are often late, turn on Sleep Mode; Slowing down can be quite helpful. Wind Down alerts you to get your work done and go to bed on time, sleep mode distracts you. Tap Get started under Set Wind Down Shortcuts and then install.
- Also, make sure to add Sleep Mode in Control Center (Settings > Control Center) so you can turn it on or off easily.
- In case you want to start fresh by deleting all previous sleep tracking data, follow this guide to remove all sleep tracking data stored on your device.
Manually Add Sleep Monitoring Data
While it’s undeniable that the built-in sleep tracker works pretty well at tracking sleep, I don’t think it’s foolproof. So, if you can’t quite find that right about logging your sleep information, take advantage of the option to add sleep data manually.
To do this, start health app on you iPhone -> Browse -> Sleep -> Add Data. Now, enter the sleep data and then make sure to tap on it. Completed in the upper right corner of the screen to finish.
Update the Software on Your iPhone
If the sleep monitor isn’t working as expected, there’s no harm in updating the software. I guess the problem could be due to a rare bug that could prevent it from working properly.
You can count on it to fix this problem too, as a software update usually fixes random/various issues. To do this, start Settings app on your iPhone -> General -> Software Update. Now, shoot Download and Install Option to update the software on your iOS device as usual.
