The latest version of iOS 16 has passed behind-the-scenes testing, but surprisingly, the issues have slipped from the cracks to the firmware.
The current iOS 16 issues list includes abnormal battery drain, Wi-Fi issues, UI lag, crashes, Touch ID issues, and loading issues. Most of these issues are brand new, others ported from older versions of iOS.
While some of these issues will require Apple’s fix in a new version of iOS 16 or a visit to your local Apple Store, some issues can be fixed in minutes from the comfort of your home.

How to Fix iOS 16 Installation Issues

To resolve the installation, try doing a hard reset. If you have an iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, iPhone SE 2 or iPhone SE, here’s how to do it. Once your phone restarts, try the process again.
If your download is taking a long time to complete, you’ll want to pause the download, wait a few minutes, and try again. Also your router or Check Apple’s service page for a cut.
How To Fix iOS 16 Battery Life Issues
If you run into battery life issues, there are a few things you can try.
If you’re experiencing excessive battery drain after installing Apple’s latest firmware, take a look at our list of fixes. They can help.
If nothing in this guide works, chances are your battery is bad. If you determine that this may be the case, you should contact Apple for a replacement.

How to Fix iOS 16 Bluetooth Issues
If you can’t connect your iPhone to a Bluetooth device, here are a few solutions that have worked for us in the past.
First off, you’ll want to forget about the Bluetooth connection on your iPhone. Here’s how to do this:
If that doesn’t work, try resetting your iPhone’s Network Settings:
This process will take a few seconds to complete. It also causes your iPhone to forget known Wi-Fi networks, so make sure you have your passwords handy.
You can also try resetting your iPhone’s settings to factory defaults. Here’s how to do this:
Bluetooth problems can be difficult to fix, so if none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Apple’s customer service or the company that made the product you are trying to connect to.
How to Fix iOS 16 Wi-Fi Issues
If you notice slower than normal Wi-Fi speeds and/or your connection keeps dropping, here are some steps you can take to try and fix these issues.
If you’re on your home Wi-Fi network, try unplugging the router and/or modem for a minute before plugging it back in. This may help.
If you can’t access the router and/or modem you’re connected to, or if you’re sure the problem isn’t related to your router/modem, go to your iPhone’s Settings app.

How To Fix iOS 16 Cellular Data Issues
If you see a “No Service” icon and/or your iPhone can’t connect to your cellular network, here are a few steps to take.
First, make sure there is no cellular outage in your area. Check social media for reports and/or contact your service provider via social media. We also recommend that you check Down Detector to see if others in your area have similar issues.
If you determine that the problem is not caused by a network outage, you will want to restart your iPhone and see if that fixes the connection.
If you still can’t get it to work, you’ll want to try turning Cellular Data off and on. Here’s how to do this:
If that doesn’t work, try turning Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds before turning it off. Airplane Mode kills all connections on your device.
If nothing here works, it may have something to do with your account. If you think this might happen, contact your service provider.
How to Fix iOS 16 FaceTime Issues
If you’re having trouble making or receiving FaceTime calls, Make sure Apple isn’t having problems with service. If FaceTime has a green symbol next to it, the problems are probably on your side.
First, make sure your iPhone is properly connected to your Wi-Fi or cellular network. If it’s on, make sure FaceTime is on. Here’s how to do this:

How to Fix iOS 16 App Issues
If one or more of your apps starts working after upgrading to the latest version of iOS 16, here are a few things you can try before contacting the developer.
First, try restarting your iPhone. If that doesn’t improve the app’s performance, you’ll want to check the App Store for an update. Developers are still pushing iOS 16 support updates and downloading the latest version of the app can help.
You can also try deleting the app and downloading it again.
If you can’t fix the problem yourself, contact the developer of the app and see if the developer knows about the problem. If there is, there may be a manual fix or an estimated time of arrival in an update that will fix the issue.
How To Fix iOS 16 Random Restart
If your iPhone starts to reboot randomly, here are a few fixes to try before contacting Apple.
First, restart your device. If you haven’t turned off your device for a while, this may fix the problem.
If you’re still seeing random reboots, go ahead and update all your apps and see if that fixes the issue. If not, you may need to contact Apple’s customer service.

How to Fix iOS 16 Visual Voicemail Issues
Visual Voicemail sometimes breaks after Apple releases a new version of iOS. If you can’t get visual voicemail to work properly on your phone, here are a few things you can try.
First, try letting the voicemail play to the end. Once complete, exit and reopen the Phone app. If that doesn’t work, you’ll want to restart your iPhone.

Update Your iPhone
Apple will periodically release new software. Point updates (iOS 16.xx) typically focus on fixing bugs, while milestone upgrades (iOS 16.x) often offer various features and fixes.
The company may not list general fixes (e.g. a fix for Bluetooth issues) in an update’s changelog, but new software always has the potential to help.
