The traditional subscription service Xbox Live Goldlaunched over 20 years ago, will no longer exist as a stand-alone Microsoft product. Starting September 14th of this year, the service will be incorporated as a new modality of Xbox Game Pass and will be called Xbox Game Pass Core.
This was an expected change, but now the company has released more details about the plan. The goal is to revamp the old Live Gold and make it more attractive.
Therefore, all traditional features will be maintained, such as online play, but some new features will be added, such as access to a catalog of 25 games.
On the other hand, Games with Gold will be discontinued. This means that, starting February 1, 2024, Microsoft will no longer offer two free games per month to subscribers.
