The rivalry between Xbox and PlayStation is nothing new. Fans of both consoles are constantly fighting over the title of the best video game console of the moment. Thus, the dispute always seeks to define which of the two has the best games, the best controls, the best resolution, among others.
But now fans of both consoles will have another title to fight for: the most inclusive console. Both companies recently announced new accessibility features for Xbox and PlayStation that make the consoles more inclusive.
Microsoft Libras Project
The latest news from Microsoft, the owner of Xbox, came on its YouTube channel. Aiming to include people who are deaf or have some other hearing impairment, the company added a sign language interpreter known as Jessyka “Suuhgetsu” to its latest videos.
Jessyka, who is not only a Twitch streamer but also a Libras coordinator at Riot Games, is a reference in the gaming community. Some of the games she has interpreted include: “Sea of Thieves”, “Forza” and “Halo”.
Sony’s Affordable Controller
Entertainment giant Sony has announced a new controller aimed at gamers with mobility issues. The joystick, called the Access Controller, was developed in partnership with accessibility experts.
The controller offers several customization options, with buttons that can be moved according to the player’s needs. The new design also allows you to use it on a flat surface, such as a table.
This innovation is especially useful for players who have some kind of disability in their hands, which can make it difficult, or even impossible, for them to hold the controller.
It will also be possible to create different controller mapping profiles, allowing players to create different configurations for different games. It will be possible, for example, to change the functioning of the same button.
