To help avoid this, this guide on where to look for the battlefield in Horizon Forbidden West will help you complete the Cradle of Echoes mission with minimal fuss.
Where to search on the battlefield in the Horizon Forbidden West Cradle of Echoes quest?
There are 4 clues that can be found on the battlefield during Cradle of Echoes. To find them, you need to use your focus to find the hazy purple signals on important objects that can be examined later.
can be hard to find everything Because the clues you’re looking for aren’t all obvious, and the purple haze isn’t always obvious enough to stand out well against the environment. So if you don’t know where to look, it’s easy to miss the Focus icons that are meant to guide you.
All battlefield tips in Cradle of Echoes
Except for the Zenith corpse, here are the 4 battlefield clues we’ve listed and where to find them.
- Burnt Weapon – The steaming remains of the weapon used in Zenith are on the ridge west of the body.
- corpse – Just behind the charred weapon, on the other side of some bush, is the corpse of an Oseram, forming another clue.
- Ghost – The obvious one is the giant mechanical horror lying dead east of Zenith’s body. Walk up to it and you will get the review prompt.
- Camping Gear – This one is easy to miss. A little further southwest of Oseram’s hull and Charred Weapon is a bedspread and blankets laid out near the back wall of the cliffs. They are partially obscured by leaves and rocks, but they should be easy to find once you know where to look.
Once all this is found, return to Erend to discuss your findings and move forward with the quest.
Investigation of Zenith’s Corpse lens error explained
It was possible to trigger a bug in the Cradle of Echoes quest where the battlefield search was not triggered until after examining Zenith’s corpse. The contextual button prompt to look at the body may not appear, leaving no room for the task to progress. While this has apparently been fixed, if you have any issues restarting from the checkpoint, leave some space as Erend walks and stay close to the body where the icon should appear. Once this is done, Aloy will comment a bit on the situation before it’s time to search the battlefield for more clues as to what’s going on.
