Three years ago, game developer Ubisoft got gamers excited with the remake from the classic “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”. At the beginningo, the game was being developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai.
Later, production was handed over to Ubisoft Montreal, which is the creator of the original game. The change occurred due to visual issues.
Since this event, there has been no further news about the game’s development. However, after all these setbacks, Ubisoft recently announced that the remake of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” has returned to the concept phase.
That’s right, unfortunately, the game has been completely scrapped and is being rebooted. Given this, it becomes clear that we won’t be getting any news about “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” any time soon, frustrating the expectations of many fans who were hoping to learn more about the game at the Ubisoft Forward event in June.
Game producer and director talk about the latest news about the game
In an interview with Ubisoft News, director Michael McIntyre and producer Jean-François Naud highlighted the importance of remake of “Prince of Persia” for Ubisoft Montreal.
In this interview, it was also revealed that the game has returned to the conceptual phase, which means that it will be a while before we receive new information about the project.
In light of this, McIntyre clarified that the goal is to approach the game more as a remake than as a remaster. This is because, over the last twenty years, there have been significant advances in game development.
Therefore, it is to be expected that there will be updates and improvements in the gameplay to make the experience even better for gamers and fit with modern standards.
Anyway, all this delay increases players’ expectations to have the remake of this classic game. Now, we just have to wait for new information.
