Druckmann expressed his gratitude for the original game’s warm reception in 2020, highlighting how fan love and support continues to amaze the Naughty Dog.
He mentioned that the game’s lasting impact is a constant source of inspiration for the team as it focuses on future projects.
The remaster brings a number of visual improvements, DualSense support, updated accessibility options, and faster loading times.
Druckmann compared the release to a “Criterion Collection for a video game”, highlighting the No Return mode as the highlight, which offers a rogue-like survival experience with playable characters from Part II.
The addition of Lost Levels is the icing on the cake, offering players the opportunity to explore previously deleted levels.
Druckmann emphasized that these levels are not simply rough cuts, but feature interactive elements and commentary from the developersproviding a fascinating insight into the creative process.
While fans remain excited about the possibility of a ‘The Last of Us Part III’, Druckmann has remained enigmatic, focusing on the present and the remaster’s imminent release.
He confirmed that Naughty Dog is working on several projects, including the long-awaited ‘The Last of Us’ multiplayer game.
