Texture packs do not come pre-installed in Minecraft, they are separate assets that players must download and install. Your options may be limited depending on the type of Minecraft you are playing and this will definitely change the process and how you proceed.
How to install the best Minecraft texture packs?
Installing Minecraft texture packs depends on what version of the game you’re running, as well as whether they’re official and showcased. We’ve divided our instructions into versions of Java and Bedrock for PC so players can adjust accordingly:
Minecraft Java Edition
1. Download the texture pack as a ZIP file
2. Open Java Minecraft and press “Options”
3. Click ‘Resource Packs’ and then ‘Open Resource Packs folder’
4. Drag the ZIP file into the folder
5. Close and reopen Minecraft, then select the pack shown in “Resource Packs”
Minecraft Bedrock Edition (PC only)
1. Make sure you have Minecraft installed on your device
2. Download a compatible texture pack with the file extension “.mcpack”
3. Double-click the file and open it; the file should be automatically imported into Minecraft.
4. After opening the game, a notification should inform you that the file was “imported successfully”.
5. Go to “Settings” and “Global Resources” to find and select the texture pack you want for the game.

Of course, this assumes you’ve downloaded packages, not purchased them. The Bedrock Edition of Minecraft has a built-in storefront where players can pay for new texture packs without the hassle of downloading and installing them. This is true not only for PC gamers, but also console and mobile gamers because the in-game Bedrock Edition store is also available on these platforms.
Any packs you buy this way will also be in Settings/Global Resources for you to choose from, but they will also be linked to your Minecraft account, so you should be able to access them no matter what platform you log into the game from.
