If you’re a seasoned PC gamer, you may have had your eye on Steam Deck for a while. The console – or more precisely, the portable computer – surprised everyone when it was released in 2022, creating an unexpected excitement for the hardware device of the company, which has not had much luck in this field so far. However, the machine has a certain price, which is definitely the main obstacle to purchasing it.
Valve is clearly aware of this, as the company has initiated a refresh program for the Steam Deck at its sole discretion. When we go to the site we find Steam Decks priced at just €299 compared to €369 for the cheapest model. It’s a golden deal, especially if you’ve been waiting all this time for the right moment to step in.
These revamped Steam Decks will be hard to resist
Here’s a summary of prices currently available on the Valve website for remastered Steam Decks:
- Steam Deck 64 GB: 299€
- Steam Deck 256 GB: 339€
- Steam Deck 512 GB: 379€
However, there is an important point that should not be forgotten. For now, these renewed Steam Decks only concern LCD models, that is, the original models of the console. Since then, Valve has released an OLED version of the device with a better display, but also better performance and better battery life.
It remains to be seen whether the LCD model is enough for you. At this point, aside from the display, the differences between the models are relatively minimal, and if Steam Deck has always intrigued you, it can hardly justify giving up on these tempting new offers. Otherwise, refurbished OLED versions will also make their way to the Valve store eventually.
