The Consumer Electronics Show 2024 (CES) was the stage for the launch of the long-awaited MSI Claw A1M, a portable console which promises to redefine gaming experiences on mobile devices.
With the clear intention of competing with the already established Steam Deck and ‘ROG Ally’, MSI highlights Claw as heralding a new era in portable gaming.
The highlight of the MSI Claw is its impressive technical specifications. It becomes the first in its category to incorporate the new Intel Core Ultra processor from the Meteor Lake family, accompanied by a standard Arc Graphics GPU from the same manufacturer.
The use of Intel’s XeSS technology, based on artificial intelligence, promises up to twice the performance compared to competitors such as the ASUS ROG Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go.

The model’s 54 Whr battery surpasses that of competitors, guaranteeing around two hours of use at maximum settings and even longer in economical modes.
Also noteworthy is the cooling system, with fans 50% larger than similar models. The ergonomic design, combined with personalized RGB lighting, makes the Claw ideal for long gaming sessions.
Hardware configurations and ergonomic design
The MSI Claw has a 7-inch IPS screen with Full HD resolution, reaching peak brightness of 500 nits, accompanied by a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
In turn, the microSD, Thunderbolt 4 and 3.5 mm inputs are located on the top of the device.
With haptic feedback buttons, highly responsive triggers and Hall technology joysticks, Claw offers an immersive and customizable gaming experience, with the ability to configure macro buttons for additional functions or shortcuts.
MSI Center M platform: gaming versatility
The console is specially designed to play PC titles, but surprises by also supporting Android games.
The MSI Center M platform makes it easy to manage and customize games, featuring compatibility with a variety of titles, including Ubisoft hits such as ‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘, ‘The Crew Motorfest’ and the highly anticipated ‘Skull and Bones’.
The MSI Claw is scheduled to hit the market in the first half of 2024 in three versions exclusively in black.
Prices range from US$699 (approximately R$3,400) to US$799 (approximately R$3,900), with the entry-level version featuring an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip and 512 GB internal storage.
Full details of each variant have not yet been released by the company.
