Steam Deck: 3.1 update adds a lock screen and Windows 11 compatibility

Valve is working hard to improve the Steam Deck. The passion to run it on its own operating system comes at a price: To give users the best possible experience, distribute updates regularly. The manufacturer understood this well and has been adding feature after feature to the Steam Deck since the console’s launch.

  • The unlimited frame rate option is now available in the Performance tab of the Quick Access menu.
  • Added support for fTPM allowing Windows 11 installation.
  • Added experimental Half Rate Shading option that forces the use of 2×2 Variable Rate Shading in existing games to save power.
  • Improved overall stability
