Steam immediately launched an open beta after giving the Android and iOS app a second life in October 2022. New version of Big Picture. We would like to remind you that Big Picture is a Steam interface. Specially designed for TVs and controllers.

In this mode, you have access to the entire Steam experience, namely the entire catalog of games, videos and demos, without forgetting all your links, of course. Big Picture was first launched in 2012and while there have been many redesigns over the past few years, the latest update to Steam’s desktop interface has given Big Picture a big boost.

Steam’s Big Picture interface gets a makeover, here’s what’s new

Fortunately, Valve announced in July 2021 that the Big Picture design will be changed soonin favor of an interface inspired by the Steam Deck. And exactly, the brand announced on Thursday, February 2, 2023 launch of the final version of this revamped Big Picture mod. Let’s take a look at what it has to offer:

  • Added support to Settings > Display > Preferred Display to change primary monitor in Windows
  • Added option to launch Big Picture in windowed mode
  • Added pinned notifications for new inventory items, trade offers, moderator messages, offline chat messages, and responses to help requests
  • Added ability to move standalone and overlay keyboard

  • Added icons to indicate partial or full gamepad, VR, or keyboard/mouse support for hovering over a game image in the library
  • Added new controller configurator
  • Added a parameter to specify the inertia delay before the controller shuts down
  • Added a quick tour of the new Big Picture to get used to the latest interface

We would like to remind you that PlayStation players will be able to link their PSN accounts on Steam since October 2022. It’s a practical tool for taking advantage of bonus content, especially in the PC versions of PlayStation games like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn or Days Gone and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
