Starfield: preload is on, here’s when you can play the game

Like many other players, you may be anxiously awaiting the release of Starfield (at least for those who will stick to the standard version of the game), which will be released on September 6th. However, due to the size of Bethesda’s title, you may find yourself in your momentum on D-Day: 140GB on PC, 126GB on Xbox Series. If your connection is whimsical or you don’t have a fiber connection yet, the download already seems too long.

However, if you want to play as soon as Starfield comes out, all is not lost. In fact, starting today, you can: pre-install massive RPG on your machine. Whether you bought the game on Steam, the Microsoft Store, or plan to play on Game Pass, pre-loading is now available to everyone.

What date and time can you play Starfield, depending on the version?

To do this, go to the special page of the platform of your choice, and then click the button. Pre-installation. Your machine will do the rest. Of course, once the download is complete, you won’t be able to launch the game before the scheduled date. Moreover, this situation will be different depending on the print in your hand. As a matter of fact, if you have the Premium version, you will have to wait for September 1, not September 6 to discover the game. Here is a summary for all versions and platforms:

  • Standard Version: September 6
  • Xbox Game Pass version: September 6
  • Premium Version: 1 September
  • Premium version via Xbox Game Pass: 1 September

As for the time, it will be the same regardless of the release date: 2 in the morning. Therefore, you’ll need to stay up late (or wake up early depending on your strategy) to be there when the floodgates open.
