Ever since Starfield Direct on Sunday, June 11, when Bethesda’s next title was announced in depth for 45 minutes, there’s been a question that has been worrying PC gamers. Will their machine be able to run such a beast? This week, Bethesda finally answered the question by releasing the minimum and recommended configurations to run the game correctly on your PC. If the latter doesn’t come as a big surprise after all, there’s still one point to note: Starfield is definitely a game to play. Computer equipped with SSD.

Yes, even the minimal configuration that will allow you to play Starfield with the least greedy graphics settings requires an SSD. Here are the configurations listed on the game’s Steam page:

If your computer does not have an SSD, so you will have no choice: you will have to invest. Fortunately, the game comes at the right time. Indeed, the price of storage, and especially SSDs, has never been lower. If you’re still hesitating, now might be the time to convince yourself. You can also decide to play on Xbox Series X/S. However, keep in mind that the title will be limited to 30 FPS.
