Star Wars: Ubisoft may announce the game in the open world soon

About a year ago, there was talk of a very promising project: a game from Ubisoft, set in the Star Wars universe, set in a completely open world, and focused above all on narrative that resembles the studio’s biggest games. But things have calmed down since the partnership with LucasFilms was announced, and fans of the saga have turned their eyes to (many) other works from cult films.

But 2023 could be the year of the big reveal. In any case, this is what Ubisoft’s creative director Julian Gerighty’s teaser looks like. On its Twitter account, Ubisoft, along with Massive Entertainment (the studio in charge of the project) and Lucasfilms, posted an image of the Star Wars logo, stating: “2023 will be an important year”

Ubisoft may introduce open-world Star Wars game this year

While this post might seem a bit heartbreaking to say that a trailer for the game will be released later this year, it looks like Massive Entertainment is gearing up for an announcement. For now, we’ll have to be patient to find out what’s going on… and we’ll have to rely on the previous information described in the title.

The game should really be inspired by No Man’s Sky, offering many planets like Starfield and a huge world to visit, including space jumps. While the character played by the player is fully customizable, the story can be divided into various branches according to the choices of this character.

The game, which looks particularly ambitious, will be developed on the Snowdop engine that Ubisoft has already used under the The Division license. Recall that Massive Entertainment is currently working on the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game based on James Cameron’s films.
