McDonald’s is one of the most famous fast-food chains in the world. The company periodically launches a new product in its catalog that differs from country to country.
In the case of China, the restaurant recently started selling a mini-game in the shape of a nugget inspired by the game. Tetris.
Just like Mc, Tretris is historic. This game was developed in 1984 by a Russian, Alexey Pajitnov, and is the best-selling game of all time, with over 520 million copies sold worldwide.
In fact, the story of the game’s licensing became a movie that premiered on Apple TV this year. In this sense, it is clear that the combination of these two great successes would result in an even bigger phenomenon.
As a result, the minigame has already sold out! The device with the game was distributed to customers as part of the celebration of the nugget’s 40th anniversary on the menu.
In Chinese restaurants, this portable device was available for 30 yuan, which is equivalent to about R$20, with the purchase of any meal. In addition, a McNuggets-themed case came as a gift.
Over 400,000 minigames sold out in China
In the country, 400 thousand minigames were distributed to different locations. All of these games sold out quickly.
McNuggets first appeared on the menu in 1979. McDonald’s first CEO, Rene Arend, came up with the idea and tested it in select restaurants. After testing it, the chain noticed that it was having trouble getting enough chicken.
However, this issue was resolved in 1983, allowing Chicken McNuggets to be made available worldwide.
There are four different shapes of McNuggets: bell, bone, boot and ball. Given its great success, this game may soon be rolled out in other countries.
As we can see, this is a great opportunity to increase profits through this fun and nostalgic toy. Gamers will certainly be eagerly awaiting it.
