Today, we have great news for those gamers. Last Tuesday (16), the city of Rio de Janeiro released the project for the first public arena of games from Brazil.
Apparently, the space will have a broadcast studio with a capacity of 100 people. The arena will be built inside the Nave do Conhecimento do Engenhão, located in the Engenho de Dentro neighborhood.
According to a statement from Rio de Janeiro’s city hall, the studio’s main objective is to host electronic sports championships, which will cover a wide range of activities.
In addition, the space will also be used to broadcast championships. In this sense, the arena will be made up of dressing rooms for the teams participating in the competitions.
It will also have a dedicated technical area, an LED screen to show the matches, a raised floor designed for competitors and a grandstand designed especially for fans.
Additionally, the studio will serve as an important training center for Esports teams.
1st public arena of games will be aimed at smaller events

The arena was designed to host small events and competitions, with an emphasis on regional initiatives. In addition to its main purpose, the city government is also planning to transform this space into an inclusive and educational place, aimed at people in situations of social vulnerability.
This project was conceived in collaboration with the Municipal Secretariat of Science and Technology and the Coordination of Games and e-Sports, an agency linked to the Civil House of the City of Rio de Janeiro.
Mayor Eduardo Paes, at the project launch event, said the following about the project:
“Our goal is to encourage a lot of Rio de Janeiro residents who are just starting out in this field to be able to compete with anyone. Nave do Conhecimento is that, it reduces inequalities. The game is a great opportunity to enter the world of technology.
It also has enormous educational and income-generating potential. Today, it is an industry that is much stronger than streaming networks. We want the city of Rio to be a pioneer in supporting e-sports, and that is why we are proud to be the first public gaming arena here.”
