PS5 Pro will arrive with liquid cooling in April 2023 [Exclusif]

An anonymous source has given us exclusively interesting information about Sony’s next home console. According to him, the Japanese giant should market a brand new PS5 model from April 2023nearly two and a half years after the original version was released in late 2020.

Our source is announcing that it’s a Pro model, not a “slim” version we’ve been hearing about for a few months. If it’s really a Pro model, it probably means: we can expect a performance boost from the consoleand hence a new chip from AMD. However, it’s still too early to know what to expect in terms of power.

PS5 Pro comes with a brand new cooling system

In addition to the increased performance, the source reveals: The main innovation of the Pro version is in terms of cooling. The PS5 is currently cooled using a liquid metal compound, which has been the subject of discussion lately, as well as a fan.

However, Sony needs to change this system in the next generation. liquid cooling or “water cooling”, usually found on some gaming PCs. Therefore, we can expect better heat management that will not refuse to cool the console if the chip is more powerful. A cooling change could also lead to a change in design, but we’ll still have to wait for more on this one.

While waiting for the new model to arrive, Sony would plan to sell the PS5 stock. Recall that Sony recently claimed that the shortfall is now over and it should be easier for you to get a copy. Still, the two models should not compete with each other: Indeed, the PS5 Pro is likely to cost much more than the PS5. Finally, there is no guarantee that the PS5 Pro will be produced in sufficient numbers to meet demand. Then we would find ourselves in the same scenario as the PS5 when it was released in 2020.

Final disclosure: Even if the source providing us with this information has shown us its credibility in the past, it is clearly will be taken with all the necessary tweezers, because Sony has not made anything official yet, not even the existence of a PS5 Pro. Additionally, we are not immune to last-minute reversal on behalf of the company. Finally, if a PS5 Pro or slimline version is due to be released soon, the Japanese firm will likely announce it via a State-Of-Play, as it usually does. And no such event is planned for now, so we will have to face our troubles patiently.
