Pokemon Go Sustainability Week start time, Oranguru, Shiny Cherubi, and more

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week will mark Earth Day with its annual event. This will highlight Grass-type Pokemon and encourage trainers to get out and enjoy their surroundings.

This Sustainability Week is special as it will introduce a new Alola Pokemon, the Oranguru to Pokemon Go – Season of Alola after all – and a new variant of Shiny. The week-long event has a lot to do and will coincide with Stuffal Community Day over the weekend.

To help guide everything trainers can do, we’ve put together this handy guide for everything in the Pokemon Go Sustainability Week event.

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2022 Start Time and Pokemon

The Pokemon Go Sustainability Week event kicks off at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, and at 8:00 am on Monday, April 25th.

During this event, the following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild: Oddish, Grimer, Turtwig, Grotle, Cherbi, Trubbish, Ferroseed, Oranguru, Venusaur (rare), and Phantump (rare).

Oranguru is an interesting Pokemon from the Alola region. This Normal and Psychic type Pokemon has a unique move that allows its partner to use its move twice in a turn. Of course, this mechanic cannot be used in Pokemon Go, but the Oranguru can be a nice addition to any team and definitely something trainers will want to catch to add to their Pokedex.

At the 2022 Sustainability Week event, trainers will have different ways to catch the Orangugus. Pokemon will appear more often in the wild. Trainers can use an Incense to lure Pokemon into their location, but they can also go to PokeStops and Gyms where Pokemon gather to find the Oranguw.

Orangur will also hatch from 7km Eggs obtained during the event. These Eggs can only be obtained through Gifts given by friends.

How to Catch Shiny Cherubi in Pokemon Go

Cherubi and its evolution, Cherrim, will be releasing Shiny variants in Pokemon Go during the Sustainability Week 2022 event.

These Grass-type Pokemon are already available in Pokemon Go, but there will be more ways than ever to find them and their Sparkles. Cherubi will appear more often in the wild. As with Oranguru, trainers can use an Incense to lure Pokemon into their positions, such as Cherubi. Additionally, Mossy Lures can be used in PokeStops to lure Cherubi to that stop.

Cherubi will also spawn from 7km Eggs obtained through Friends Gifts during the event — Alolan Diglett and Larvitar will also hatch from these Eggs.

Grass-type Pokemon will also have a reward match for completing certain Field Research Missions during the event.

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week Research Tasks

By spinning PokeStops during the Sustainability Week event, Trainers will have a chance to receive special Field Research missions that will reward them with event-specific Pokemon encounters.

Here is the list of quests and rewards found during the event.

A Timed Research will be active in Pokemon Go between 10:00 and 20:00 local time on Saturday, April 23. During this time, trainers will be tasked with walking a certain distance to win encounters with Cherubi – which increases the chances of finding Shiny.

For every 1 km they walk, the trainers will win a match with the Cherubi. At the Stuffal Community Day event, which is also on the same day, every trainer who walks 5 km will plant a tree by Niantic.

There will also be a Collection Challenge that will reward trainers with the Mossy Lure Module and 15 Great Balls. Gloom and Weepinbell, which two of the Pokemon trainers are supposed to catch, will only appear when using the Mossy Lure Module.

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week In-Game Bonuses

Trainers can get a special pack for free from the in-game store that gives them the Mossy Lure Module. Use this to complete your Collection Quest and find some rare Grass types.

Gloom, Weepinbell, Chikorita, Grotle, Cherubi, Sewaddle, Alolan Diglett (rare), Bellossom (rare), and Nincada (rare) will be drawn into Mossy Lure Modules during the event.

Trainers will also earn twice as much experience for spinning a PokeStop for the first time.
