Pokemon Go Alolan Geodude Community Day will feature a regional form of everyone’s favorite rock, and while not as extensive as Sandshrew a few months ago, this weekend’s festivities should still give trainers plenty to do.
Alolan Geodude and its evolutions will be unveiled at its own Community Day event. As with other Pokemon Go events of its kind, trainers will see plenty of Alolan Geodude in the wild for players to catch.
During this event, trainers will have several goals to achieve: Transform Rock-type Pokemon into Alolan Golems to catch a shiny Alolan Geodude and get a special move.
To help trainers take advantage of all Community Day bonuses, we’ve compiled this guide with everything players need to know.
Pokemon Go Alolan Geodude Community Day Start Time
Pokemon Go Alolan Geodude Community Day begins on Saturday, May 21, between 11:00 and 14:00 local time. At that time, Alolan Geodude will appear more often in the wild and if trainers are using Incense while walking.
With Community Days returning from six hours to three hours as they have been for the past few years, instructors should try to take some time off to attend the event.
How to catch Shiny Alolan Geodude in Pokemon Go
Community Days are the best way to find Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go. During the Alolan Geodude Community Day, Rock and Electric type Pokemon will not appear in the wild more often, but will also increase the chance of encountering Shiny during the event window.
Shiny Alolan Geodude is very different from its regular counterpart. The regular Alolan Geodude is gray in colour, while the Shiny variety is golden in colour. In case instructors don’t spot the difference, the Shiny sign will also appear next to the Geodude name when they encounter it.
Community Day spotlight The appearance of Pokemon’s Shiny forms is increased during the event, so trainers who take the time will likely encounter at least one during their journey.
To increase the number of encounters, trainers can detonate an Incense to lure Pokemon into their positions – however, Incense’s effectiveness has been reduced while idle – and traveling to PokeStops and Gyms where Pokemon gather.
How to get Alolan Golem with Rollout in Pokemon GO
Rollout, the rock-type hack, will promote Pokemon Go alongside this Community Day. When Trainers convert their Alolan Graveler, the advanced form of Alolan Geodude, into Alolan Golem during the event, their Quick Attack will automatically Rollout.
Instructors’ time to do this will be between 11:00 and 16:00 local time, two hours after the event officially ends. Trainers also don’t need to use a Geodude captured during the event to get this special move, if you have an Alolan Geodude/Graveler with great stats you want to improve you can.
It takes 100 Geodude Candy or a trade to turn Graveler into Golem.
The Rollout is a Rock-type Rapid Attack with a power of four during trainer battles and a power of 14 during Gyms and Raids. This will probably take its place as Smackdown’s most efficient Rock Speed Attack as it generates energy so fast.
