Playstation Plus: Final Fantasy 7 Remake extension is more complex than expected to play

Since June 23, 2022, Sony has released the new Playstation Plus formula, resulting from the merger of the old PS Plus and PS Now. Now players can choose from three offers. If PS Plus Essential doesn’t offer more than the previous PS Plus, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions provide access to many benefits, including a catalog of over 400 PS4 and PS5 games.

Like Microsoft with Xbox Game Pass, Sony plans to add new games to its catalog on a regular basis. However, since July 19, 2022, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will be able to get a few additional games, starting with Stray, the famous adventure game where you play as a cat in a cyberpunk universe.

Fans of the cult Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed license will also be able to pick up various episodes from their toy library, such as AC IV: Black Flag, AC: Unity or AC: The Ezio Collection. But that’s not all, as Sony has added the critically acclaimed remake and Intergrade expansion of Final Fantasy 7 to its collection.

No Intergrade expansion for those who already own FF 7 Remake

This is great news, especially for gamers who want to explore this add-on at a lower cost. Well, this one might think so. Indeed, those who already own Final Fantasy 7 Remake (get it on PS4 and PS5) Can’t download Intergrade DLC through Playstation Plus catalog.

The same error message always appears :“You cannot purchase this product for the following reasons: You already own the following products that conflict with the product you are trying to purchase: “Final Fantasy VII Remake”.

Note that players faced a similar issue when the PS4 version of the game was available through the older version of PS Plus. As a matter of fact, those who saved the game in this way had to remove their credit card to access the PS5 version, unlike those who bought the game in the classical way. Finally, Sony and Square Enix reversed their decision a few months later.

For now, the producer and studio have not made any official statements on the subject. In fact, we recommend that you do not go to the vault to access this extension. It is possible that Sony will fix the problem within a few days/weeks. Anyway, we hope so.
