Pedro Pascal has become an extremely well-known actor worldwide thanks to his participation in the live-action adaptation of the game “The Last of Us”, developed by the studio Naughty Dog. This version of the game is widely famous and loved by fans, and Pascal’s recognition comes mainly from this project.
However, even though he is the protagonist of this series, it seems that Pedro Pascal had no prior knowledge about the game itself.
During an interview with the magazine Varietyhe admitted that he knew nothing about “The Last of Us” before receiving the scripts written by Craig Mazin, responsible for the adaptation.
Pascal went so far as to say:
“The first things that came to me were the scripts written by Craig Mazin. I said ‘this story is wonderful’ and my nephews replied ‘this is a video game, idiot!’.”
It is interesting to note that this interview took place in a section developed by the magazine itself, in which the actors themselves interview each other.
In Pascal’s case, he was being interviewed by Steven Yeun, known for playing the character Glenn Rhee in “The Walking Dead” and who also participated in the film “No! Don’t Look!”.

During the conversation, Yeun identified with the situation and recalled a period when he was still involved with “The Walking Dead”.
He then mentioned the following about his experience:
“I feel strangely connected to you in multiple ways, one of which is that when I was filming ‘The Walking Dead,’ a show that is kind of spiritually connected to yours — they came out with ‘The Last Of Us,’ and I played it for 12 hours straight.”said the actor.
“I remember wrapping it and going to set the next day catatonic. Like, ‘Guys, I experienced something.’ And then watching you play that role. You fit into your characters in a way that I think is really graceful.”
Through this comment, it is possible to see how much Steven Yeun demonstrated to be connected to Pedro Pascal.
‘The Last of Us’ Season 2
As for season 2 of “The Last of Us,” it’s possible that the new episodes will only arrive between 2025 and 2026, due to the writers’ strike that is happening in the North American region. Therefore, fans will have to wait longer until they can watch the new episodes.
