Considering the astronomical amount of content it offers, it’s not impossible that you haven’t finished The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom yet. We understand: It can be very difficult to leave such an amazing game. Despite everything, the world of Zelda lives on thanks to fans who proliferate projects, especially around the cult license. And for several years one of them continued to gain popularity because its promises were so attractive.
Link’s Awakening, Skyward Sword… Over the years, Nintendo has repeatedly released remakes of legendary episodes of the saga. But surprisingly, the Japanese giant is still ignoring Ocarina of Time, despite it being unanimously considered one of the best video games of all time. It doesn’t matter: If Nintendo doesn’t do it, fans will do it for them. That’s how developer CryZENx embarked on a crazy adventure: creating a complete remake of Ocarina of Time under the Unreal Engine.

On December 30, the developer shared a more than hour-long video showing the progress of the project he has been working on for many years. The result is breathtaking. The game runs at 4K/60 FPS and takes advantage of the spectacular lighting effects possible, especially in indoor environments, thanks to the integration of ray tracing. But note that the video was recorded on a particularly robust configuration (Core i9-13980HX + RTX 4090).
But the game is also compatible with DLSS, which will certainly allow more modest computers to achieve such a successful result. But keep in mind that the remake isn’t finished yet. Some textures are still quite pixelated, animations still need some work, and the game itself could benefit from some tweaking as well.
