A gaming industry is full of cases in which production becomes synonymous with creativity. Big name companies often stand out for bringing titles that players are eagerly anticipating.
However, even with the resources of these industry giants, some games surprise the public by becoming real fiascoes. These failures can be attributed to many factors, but there are no excuses that can console a dissatisfied consumer.
Recently, a striking example of this occurred in the gaming community. A production of Arkane Studioswhich even its own developers admitted was not ready to be released, reached the market, being repudiated by almost the entire industry.

The game “Redfall“, action, shooting and adventure, which is the responsibility of the same producer of “Dishonored” and “Prey”, and has the support of Microsoft, not only disappointed critics, but also all Xbox players, the main platform of the game.
On August 28, SteamDB revealed a survey of active “Redfall” players, surprising the public with the title’s failure.
With a reduction of 41 players in the current Steam player base and a meager registration of 37 players in the last 24 hours, the situation for “Redfall” is desperate. This represents a huge contrast to the impressive 6,124 players on launch day, which took place in May of this year, just four months ago.
The reality is that the game failed to connect with the public as a successful title, even with its launch on Game Pass alongside Steam. But, what led to this catastrophic fall for a game that seemed so promising at first glance?
The fall of ‘Redfall’
The production, since its beginning, had moments of much discussion and discord regarding the direction of the game. Firstly, the lack of resources and pressure from financiers led to the redesign of the production, which changed its style to a game with vampires.
Due to dissatisfaction among developers, around 70% of those working on Prey left Arkane.
Hope arose with the entry of Microsoft in production. However, not even the technological giant was enough to boost the game again. It was even criticized by the developers themselves, who wanted the game canceled.
