Nintendo Switch 2 is supposed to be released in 2024, but it’s coming towards the end of the year

This is still a little hard to believe, as Nintendo Switch 2 “leaks” have continued in recent years and are often aimed at the gap. But now everything indicates that the next console of the Japanese giant should be released next year. The recent presentation to developers during Gamescom sped things up considerably and showed that the manufacturer now has a version advanced enough to show off.

Some were also particularly optimistic, announcing a launch in early 2024. After all, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer than that. Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, usually very cautious about his future plans, has deigned to reveal more information about the arrival of the famous console. According to him, it will arrive in the second half of 2024.

A little more patience, Nintendo Switch 2 is coming

Therefore, it seems that those who are right are the most cautious leakers. We also clearly see Nintendo’s strategy here: Take your time to make sure you deliver a finished product. However, this is not the only reason that pushes the manufacturer to be patient. In fact, Shuntaro Furukawa plans to achieve his goal of selling 15 million copies of the first Switch by the end of the current fiscal year.

Finally, those who won’t be moving directly to the next model can rest assured: support for the console won’t stop once its successor is released. Indeed, Nintendo plans to keep support going until at least 2025, giving users time to switch… and the company continues to sell one of the most popular machines of all time.
