This new collection will focus on the latter part of the series, including what many consider to be its weakest entry, The Angel of Darkness.
Rejoice, for Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered has been officially proclaimed in a grand announcement on Friday. This masterpiece will encompass The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and the aforementioned The Angel of Darkness. Each title is set to receive a lavish upgrade, with enhanced graphics, the option to switch between classic and modern control schemes, and over 150 fresh trophies awaiting achievement seekers. The beloved photo mode from Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will also make a triumphant return, accompanied by the addition of boss health bars for players to conquer.
The unveiling of this trilogy transports us back to a most peculiar chapter in the annals of the Tomb Raider saga. Core Design, the original architects of Lara Croft’s adventures, found themselves tasked by publisher Eidos Interactive to produce a new Tomb Raider iteration annually following the triumph of the inaugural game. This grueling schedule ultimately led the team to contemplate the demise of our iconic heroine, although their efforts were in vain. The Last Revelation saw Lara’s supposed demise, only for the tale to continue as it flourished. The epic conclusion to this trilogy was overshadowed by a plethora of challenges. Core Design, fatigued by the relentless yearly demands, encountered their first foray into the PlayStation 2 realm with numerous technical setbacks. Despite the diverging opinions on the game itself (it enjoyed considerable commercial success), it became evident that the series was in dire need of revitalization.
